Monthly Round Up! August Additions (+ July Stragglers)

It's the first Wednesday (Thursday) of the month, so let's take a look at what I added to the collection in August! 

So when I posted my BreyerFest Haul I fully expected to not have any other July additions, so I made it the monthly additions post. Then Breyer threw us for a loop and released the Deluxe Club Stablemate Kiana in July rather than the typical September/October. I could have added her to the BreyerFest post, but it didn't feel right, so I saved her for the August post instead! I have two Deluxe Club accounts, one in my name and one in the name of one of my cats. I pulled the matte Kiana on my account, and the glossy on my cat's. I think he has all the luck! 

August is a Stablemates Club month! This month's release was Touché, a lovely bay leopard Appaloosa on the G4 Trotting Warmblood mold. She was a 50/50 glossy matte split, and like Kiana I was lucky to pull one of each! This time, my account pulled the glossy and my cat's pulled the matte. The Thorin pin was a ridealong with one of my orders.  

I had one goal in mind for the Second Chance sale, since I pulled all of the variations I wanted at BreyerFest. I conga Gilen, but I didn't put Birke and Ribe on my Special Run preference list. I figured with the variations announced, there would be plenty left over for the Second Chance sale online, and I was pleased to be proven right! 

August also brought the next Premier Club release - Flapjack and Waffles! They're probably my most anticipated Premier release this year - Carmen went straight to a friend who wanted her, and while I like Georgina and she'll be staying, a pony and donkey duo is much more to my tastes. We've desperately needed new longears in the traditional lineup for a while, and we've now gotten the new mule and donkey in the space of a year. 

I didn't plan to buy a Stone this month. Then Stone surprise dropped $99 Ice Cream themed Chips. If there's one thing about me, it's that I am kind of obsessed with ice cream. Another thing about me is I am equally obsessed with lemons. And wouldn't you know it, but there was a Lemon Ice Cream chip in the drop. Unfortunately, I was broke after BreyerFest, and I resigned myself to letting it go. I noticed the day after the drop he was still available. I was talking with my friend Mel and mentioned it and she was like, "you need him, he belongs with you." And because Mel is an exceedingly generous friend, she loaned me the cash to pick him up. So, now I have a little Lemon Ice Cream Chip in my collection!

I mentioned in my BreyerFest haul post that my Uff Da and second Hygge were delivered to my friend who purchased them on my behalf (I don't trust the service in the Alltech with something as important as my online exclusive BreyerFest purchases. I got burned the year Buggy came out.) I met up with her to grab them and also see The Lion King musical. It was a good day! 

Finally, we have another grail for the year. I arranged to buy a Pancho from my friend Jane, and at the same time purchased the complete 70s Stable set at the same time. We had talked about the Pancho at Big Orange Bash this year, and she graciously allowed me to start time payments after BreyerFest to pick them up at Happy Kamper. She threw in the shipping box for the G1 buckskin Quarter Horse Mare as a bonus. August was definitely the month of generous friends! 

The BreyerFest Files: The 2026 Haul

In place of the usual July monthly round up of additions, this month we have the 2026 BreyerFest haul! I didn't buy anything outside of BreyerFest week in July, so it made the most sense to schedule this post on my usual first Wednesday of the month. Most of my BreyerFest budget was spent on pre-arranged pickups, so I didn't buy much outside of my Special Runs. 

We'll start with the aforementioned pre-arranged pickups! We'll start with the Anton, as he's been a long time coming. My friend Kelly runs a cheapie string of models, and she ended up with a donation of the Vintage Club Anton. I was looking for one, and Kelly tends to sell off her Project Cheapie String models at the end of the project in order to fund the next project. I laid claim to the Anton, and we spent the next two years in a fun cycle of - "Well, I've found the box but no horse" "I have the horse but no box" "I have the horse and box but I can't make it to this show." Well, the horse reappeared to attend NAN this year, and I snagged him off Kelly before leaving Kentucky. (In theory I'm getting his box at Happy Kamper, as it pulled its disappearing trick again). 

Mini Tortuga is one I've been after for a while - I've had mini Jade and mini Mauvelous in my collection for a few years, and I've been looking to complete the set. I have a reputation at this point for my mini obsession, to the point my friends reach out to me when they have minis they're looking to sell. My friend Lindsay is one of those people - she was getting her sales together for BreyerFest, and asked if there were any minis I was looking for. I mentioned mini Tortuga, and with luck she not only had him, but also the COA, and was willing to split both out from the rest of the set. I also picked up the blue G1 Arabian Mare keychain from her. 

The Highland Pony keychain was another instance of a friend reaching out to me privately. I was very thrilled to add her - I've had the opportunity to add some great rarities to my collection this year, but I think I'm going to save her full story for a future Collection Spotlight!

Finally, I was able to pre-purchase both this year's VIP pin set and the 2008 BreyerFest lapel pin from yet another hobby friend. I was very excited about the 2008 pin, as it was my first BreyerFest! 

Next up, we have my room sales purchases. Like I mentioned, I didn't buy a lot this year, and I didn't do a lot of shopping in general. I was just too busy and too tired. I am very happy with what I acquired! I picked up the multimedia dun Swaps from a friend's room on the first Sunday night after picking up my NAN packet. The G3 Stock Horse is an upgrade for the one I have who went yellow - thanks Heather B. for that girl! The classic Man O'War and Quarter Horse Foal came from the same room - the Man O'War especially is in fantastic shape. The NIP Thoroughbred Mare came from another friend's room, and has different packaging from my other 90s NIP G1 Thoroughbred Mare. The two keychains likewise I picked up from friends - though on different nights! I've definitely been on a keychain kick lately - those early BreyerFest ones, I'm coming for you next! 

I wasn't planning on entering the NAN raffle. Then I had time to kill on Tuesday waiting for performance to finish (my stewarding part was done, but I carpooled with my friend who was a performance judge) so I looked over the raffle. This model in package specifically with the misprinted label has been a minor grail of mine for a while, so I dropped $30 worth of raffle tickets in for him. It paid off. I'm still figuring out the perfect show name for him, and I'm very excited for his show career to begin this fall! 

Time to move into the official event models, starting with the Celebration Horse and Event Stablemates. I had three tickets, two I purchased, plus one ticket as compensation for volunteering. I picked the nicest Flinka of my three and sold my extras to my BreyerFest roomies. The two tickets I purchased before the cutoff for included event Stablemates, which would mean I only had to track down the other two event Stablemates instead of paying for the full set from the Breyer Store and hoping they didn't sell out before I got there like last year. As it happens, my friend Sarah had two pre-cutoff tickets as well, and doesn't collect minis, decos, or glossies. I offered to take her two off her hands. My friend doing pickups while we were at the live show grabbed me nearly one of everything, but Helsinki wasn't available when she went through. She grabbed me two of the Lying Mare instead, and I exchanged one for one of my roommate's extra Helsinkis. Hobby friends are worth their weight in gold!

It was a light Special Run year for me! I did get three tickets because I always want two surprise models, and I went the master list route because it has never failed me. I was actually was glad Breyer revealed the variations early, as it meant I aimed to put two mules on my list instead of the mare and foal set. I did get all of my picks (two surprises, two mules, a Midnattssol, and an Oseberg). I was equally fortunate to pull all of the variations I wanted: glossy Oseberg and both the bell tail and swish tail mules. I ended up with two of the gold decorator Surprises, and I plan on selling both of those, so they didn't make it into the loot pic. 

It was a light store special year for me as well! I'm not a huge Idocus or Icelandic Pony collector, I don't trust my cats enough to collect the crystals, and the Classic was cute but not my speed. As per usual, I picked up the Stablemate set, and I needed the Gotland Pony for conga reasons. 

The mish mash of non-model acquisitions! I always try to pick up the magnet, enamel pin, plush, and mug every year. I snagged the sweatpants from the Breyer Store on Sunday on the recommendation of a friend. I finally made it to Old Friends this year and picked up the travel mug and the hat. It's not a BreyerFest without buying the chaotic nonsense Shauna has cooked up - this year it was genuine horse hockey bases and Clarion carpet pins. I also once again participated in the Heather jam trade (I got peach this year!) I picked up a nice pony pouch for my NIP Morgan. The Dala Horse keychain and rubber duck were both given to me by strangers while I was on volunteer shifts. 

For online models, I needed two Hygges and one Uff Da. I ordered one Hygge myself (fighting with the cell service in the Alltech to do so), and my friend Amanda grabbed my Uff Da and second Hygge. All three have arrived, though the ones Amanda ordered will be in a later additions post as they shipped to her and I don't have them yet. Both of my Hygges ended up being the decorator variation, so I'll end up buying the realistic at some point, keeping the nicer decorator, and selling the other. 

I'll talk more about my experience volunteering in next Wednesday's post, but suffice to say - I was both a NAN volunteer and a BreyerFest volunteer this year. It meant I spent the week with little free time and even less sleep, but it was a very rewarding experience! I was happy to give back to the hobby. I ended up with a lovely purple medallion to match my other purple medallions from 2022 and 2024, and the champagne variation of the volunteer model. His show name is going to be She Works Hard for the Money. (I'm the she. He's the money.)

Not technically a purchase, but my wonderful friend Brooke made me a tray for carrying minis at shows. I had a DIY one that I used myself, but when I was running Kelly's models at BOB this year, she had a tray made by Brooke. Brooke was also attending BOB, and I made sure to compliment her on how nice it was and how much I liked using it. She offered to make me one as well! If anyone is looking for a tray, I highly recommend reaching out to her (I can get you in touch with her!)

Monthly Round Up! June Additions

June has been a month! The clock is ticking to leave for BreyerFest (I'm heading down in four days, and I feel so behind!) But let's take a look at what I added to the collection in June. 

First up was this keychain! She's from the 1998 BreyerFest. She popped up on eBay at the right price, and I jumped to add her to the collection.

BOB meant I got to see my fabulous friend Kelly M., and as per usual I came home with a pile of things from her. I traded one of my leopard Mayas for one of Kelly's roans, and finally got the glossy Javier from the Stablemates Club last year. 

I also picked this little gal up at BOB, but she was unexpected. My friend Jane gave her to me as a gift, since she knows I love rainbow ponies. She's one of Kelly Sealey's Thistles. I'm not much for resins or customs, but she has a permanent place on the shelf. 

So these guys were actually a May purchase that arrived in June - they're Erudite and Pupil, the May Literature release from Stone. I chose the matte set because I'm always leery of light grays in gloss. I'm mostly just excited I finally added a Chip Foal to the herd!

Finally, we have the June Stablemates Club release - Najwa! I unfortunately did not receive one of the chestnuts, so I picked the nicer of the two blacks to stay in the herd, and the other will be destined for the sales bin or a show donation. 

It's a bit of a light month, but next month is BreyerFest, so funds are limited right now! 

Monthly Round Up! May Additions

May was a light month for additions! Between paying off my Hope N Glory and the Phar Lap you'll hear about below, my pony money budget was practically non-existent. I did pick up a Chips set from Stone, but they haven't made it here yet, so you'll probably see them in next month's post. 

Eating up my budget this month was a minor grail of mine. For some reason, while I like the Lonesome Glory mold, the ones that tend to call to me are the rare and expensive ones (Debonair and Nola I have my eyes on you!) Phar Lap is one I've had my eye on for a while, so when I noticed my friend Shannon had hers for sale at Presley Palooza, I asked how much she wanted for him. Thankfully, she was willing to take time pays and was willing to hold him until I could make my first payment. I picked him up at Rainbow Rave Live, and just paid him off last week. 

Also picked up at Rainbow Rave Live was this Love and Hope set. I've been meaning to pick up a set since all rainbow ponies have a place in my house and my Pride display. The Breyer division at Rainbow Rave had boxed models as prizes for overalls, so I came home with them. 

There wasn't much I needed from the BreyerFest Warehouse sale...except this pin from BreyerFest 2023. I idly collect the pins, with a specific focus on the BreyerFest ones from years I've attended. Usually the pins are restocked throughout the weekend, and I don't have a problem picking one up on Saturday or Sunday when I make it through the store line (obviously since I show on Friday I never make it there the first day!) BreyerFest 2023 was the exception - they sold out of stock on Friday and never restocked later in the weekend. I'm glad to finally have one! 

Monthly Round Up! April Additions

Happy May! You'll be pleased to know I survived my April of back to back shows, mostly no worse for the wear! We're back to our regularly scheduled programming this week, but more show reports will be coming in May! 

There's nothing like sitting on your couch in mid-April and realizing the box next to you is a horse you forgot to put in your March additions post. I picked up this set from a friend who was selling it at RCC - you may remember this set was the 2024 bonus model for the Stablemates Club, and there was a split. You received either the set with the G3 Standing Foal or the G3 Lying Foal, and the mare was the same in both sets. I received the Standing Foal, and I'd been idly on the hunt for the Lying Foal. This set was listed for the right price, so it came home with me! The mare will likely end up as a show donation, as I don't particularly need two of them in my collection, and I'm fairly sure the one I already have is the nicer of the two. 

You may remember from my BVG post that I met up with my friend Heather B. right before that show. Well, in addition to the chinas I was ferrying, she also dropped off a few models I was getting from her. She went to the Hoofbeats and Maple Treats event last fall, and kindly sold me one of her Tamarkuz models. As is typical for me, I paid for him months ago, and Heather held on to him until I could grab him in person. I also realized that I did not in fact have all of the 2004 JCPenney Parade of Breeds set when I went to take photos for a Stablemates Sunday post. Luckily, Heather has picked up multiple copies of this set over the years and offered me the one horse I was missing from the set (this pinto rearing Arabian). Keep an eye out on the blog at the end of the month to see the post with the full set! 

At BVG I got to see one of my very favorite model horse friends, Kenzie. We had arranged to trade my extra blue Short and Sweet Zebra for her red, but since she's in Canada we mutually agreed to wait until we could meet in person for the swap rather than shipping internationally. Luckily, she's from the part of Canada that's close to me, so we swapped at BVG. I'm happy to have the full set (minus Coal) united!

While at BVG, the Breyer dealer Paint Pony Studios had a table with some current and recently retired runs available. I was glad to see the recently retired Clydesdale was one! I've been wanting to hand pick one in person, but all of my local dealers had him out of stock when I would stop by. He retired at the end of 2025, and Breyer sold out of their stock online so I wasn't sure I'd be able to find one for cost. This copy was the only one Paint Pony Studios had for sale, so I snapped him up! He seems to be a nice copy too, so I'm happy. 

When I visited the Stone headquarters during the Little Horse Show last year, Erin gave us some sneak previews of upcoming releases. One of those previews was a Quarter 4 Design-a Horse color called Berry Flavor, and I fell in love with it. Now we know I'm not a large Stone collector, so I was eyeing the October and November Pebbles DAH offerings. I ended up waiting for the December Pebbles release, which happened to be the Saddlebred (who may be one of my favorite Pebbles scale molds?). I put in my DAH at the very last minute (no seriously, I sent in my DAH form on December 30). I didn't expect her to arrive quite so soon, but I'm so glad to have my first DAH! 

When you judge at Are You Kitten Me, you're treated very well. Not only do you get the typical entrants swag bag, you also get a special judge's swag bag. This year, that included a NIB Traditional. I ended up with Arachne, which was great. I hadn't gotten around to purchasing one yet, and free is the best price!  

So I was bad. A friend reached out asking what models I was currently looking for, and I said "well, I'm always looking for Stablemates rarities and G1s." Cue my Messenger receiving several photos of models. I ended up with two - a Frankenstang and yet another upgrade of the G1 Arabian Stallion from the Horse Play Card Game set. I've been after a Frankenstang for a while, and this brings me one step closer to obtaining all of the Event Stablemates - Hear Me Roar, I'm coming for ya! 

Actually, I was extra bad. At Island Time, my friend had this Hope N Glory for sale on her table. I told her I was very interested, but I had just paid off the aforementioned Frankenstang, so I wouldn't be able to make a payment on her for two weeks until my next paycheck. My friend said that was fine, and insisted I could take her with me that day. Her show name is "Not a Red Cent," because she made it onto a show table with me before I paid any money for her! She's the third Connoisseur model in my collection after Jazz Fusion and Reverse Polarity, and she's one I've wanted for a while.  

Have I ever mentioned I have the best friends in the hobby? I was chatting with my friend Danielle and she mentioned she had a gift for me the next time she saw me, as long as I didn't already have him. It turns out that she had a dapple gray mail order Clydesdale Stallion to match my mare and foal. I'm so grateful to have the best hobby friends - now I have to find a way to pay her back (or pay the kindness forward!) 

We're capping off the April post with my required Stablemates Club purchase - Westley! We all know I love a G1, and this guy is no exception. First of all, The Princess Bride is my favorite movie of ALL TIME, so I love his name. He also has these wonderfully detailed eyes, which almost makes up for his poor ears. I'd love to see some of the G1 molds get retooled and restored to their former, fully detailed glory. I didn't have to search very hard to find a new home for my second copy. My friend Mel (find her blog here!) congas the G1 Quarter Horse Stallion and didn't have a membership this year. When he was first announced I reached out asking if she'd like to buy my second copy, and I shipped him direct to her when he was released. A win for both of us! 

I lied - my Maya order arrived at the last minute, so she made the April post! I ordered three copies, and alas all three were the leopard Appaloosa. I guess if I ended up with three of them, at least it was my favorite colorway and I could handpick the nicest! I'm waiting to see what my friends get before seeking out to solicit trades - we always agree we get first dibs on Gamblers Choice trades, which usually works out well for us. 

Monthly Round Up! March Additions

 March brought show season back with the River City Classic two weeks ago, and with that my plastic pony acquisitions went up. I have a tendency to buy from friends who I see regularly, and rather than shipping them I agree to pick them up when I see them next to save on the shipping cost. 

I started off March by visiting one of the local dealers to check out the 2026 offerings. It was a bit of good fortune -  I have family who live 15 minutes from one of the major Breyer dealers, and I would be visiting them anyways. A perfect opportunity to kill two birds with one stone. I picked up four of the new 2026 single Stablemates. I'll be snagging the Warmblood and the Thoroughbred at some point, but I didn't like the eyes on the Thoroughbreds they had in stock, and the Warmblood will just be a conga filler, so she doesn't need to be perfect. 

When the Valentine's and Villaintines sale was announced at Stone, I looked at the Chips that would be available (because of course I did!) I ended up eyeing two Chips that I absolutely loved. My philosophy with my Stone collection is that I have either absolutely love the model or it needs to fill a spot in my Mini Stone show string, simply because of the cost of the models. My first choice for the sale was a stunning dapple gray Cutting chip, but by the time the page showed him to me he was snapped up. Luckily my second choice was Cherry Soda, and he was still available! I chose to give him a glossy finish because all bays look better glossed. 

We all know I'm a Cleveland Bay fan. When I saw Beau' N Arrow was a BreyerFest Limited Edition last year, I knew there was a good chance he'd be glossed for Breyer Midwest. I thought about (finally!) attending this year, but the cost of the flight to Kansas deterred me (it's a NAN year, I have to save for that entry fee!). I knew I'd have friends attending who wouldn't want theirs, and I also had a friend attending who could pick him up at the event and hold him for me until we saw each other! I made a quick post on my Facebook wall, and within an hour I had one prepaid, and a handoff planned and coordinated for the event. I picked him up at River City, and I'm so glad to have him in my collection! 

My friend Kelly M. is one of those friends who will hold onto items for months for me until we see each other in person - I have a spot on one of her shelves known affectionately as "the pile." I see Kelly a few times a year - for all that she's stupid far from me, she's on the right coast and we're often able to meet in the middle at shows. This time I picked up my Calista (who she snagged for me in fall of 2024 and kept forgetting to bring with the rest of my things) and the last few Tractor Supply blind bags I was missing (she makes it to more TSCs than I do). I think I still have things in my pile that we both forgot about, so look for that in a few months when I see Kelly again! 

This was an unexpected addition! I conga the Paso Fino a bit more casually, so when he was announced as the latest in the Exotic Destinations series, I put in my entries on my two accounts, but didn't ask for my friends to enter on my behalf. And yet, in the first round of picks, who should get an email but little ole me? He's absolutely gorgeous, and I gave him a little pinto friend to ride along so he'd be double boxed. Maybe now I should put more effort into finally tracking down a matte Cancion! 

Two Stones in one post! I wasn't sure he'd arrive in time for this post, but he met my expectations. I actually wasn't planning on another Stone for a bit, and then the March GemStones collection was announced. I was planning on picking up a Tegan piece the next time she painted for Stone, and here was my opportunity! I was ready to buy right when they dropped and came away with my first choice - Schmutz, a darling chestnut Morgan Chip. He's so nicely done, and I love when I can get pieces by my artist friends in OF, particularly as a person who doesn't collect customs or artist resins! 

Monthly Round Up! February Additions

February somehow brought less horses than January! It's one of the release months for the Stablemates Club, and with two micro runs in that club I sprung for a second membership this year. I also finished paying off my long term time payment, so I'll have a little extra hobby money going forward this year. Of course, a lot of that will go into my BreyerFest budget! 

Say hello to my long-term time payment! I put out an ISO for this guy last fall, and have slowly been paying him off since. I made my last payment at the beginning of February, and the seller shipped him immediately! I am so thrilled to add this guy to the collection, but I'm definitely taking a break from longer term time pays until after BreyerFest. I've got saving to do!

As mentioned above, I have two Stablemates Club memberships this year. The first release in the Club was Arroyo and Baja. I think the colors on this set are fantastic, and have such a lovely depth to them! The stallion and foal both will end up in my show string at some point this year I think. I picked the set on the left to be my keeper, and the other set will end up as a show donation, as I don't need two of these! 

I did have another Breyer order this month, to support them for their participation in National Shutdown Day, but I just stocked up on Classic/Freedom Scale pony pouches since they fit both Classics scale adults and Traditional scale foals. I also picked up the 75th Anniversary mug on clearance! The certified tea drinker in me loves a good mug.  

And since I mentioned it, I'd like it to be known that my values align with Breyer's. Hate has no place on this blog, or in this hobby. 

Monthly Round Up! January Additions

January was another very light month for additions! Club memberships hit me hard, I'm still making time payments on a very cool model, and the market hasn't had much I've wanted. That doesn't mean I didn't add anything! 

I did make a trip up to one of the local dealers, Sir Troy's. They're a fabulous dealer, with great stock and multiple locations. While there, I met up with a few of my hobby friends for a little hobby day.

My friend Sarah has had a bit of a rough time of it recently, so we decided to take her to the local hobby store and out to eat to cheer her up. We also ended up making a trip to Michael's as well. My friends both participate in NaMoPaiMo and needed to pick up some supplies. I'm not brave enough to tackle NaMo yet, so I was keeping an eye out for things I could use in my Collector Class entry this year and getting my steps in. 

Sir Troy's was a success! I didn't mean to come home with two traditionals. Salvino was one I was hoping to pick up - he's one I've wanted to handpick for a while, and Sir Troy's had six to choose from. This one by far had the best shading, and he has nice masking to boot! The Legend was unexpected, but he was marked down due to the plastic on his box being cracked so he came home with me. The horse was completely fine! 

These Stablemates were also ones I was looking to handpick. The Missouri Fox Trotter was one of two in the assortment I'd be looking to show, and I found one that had nice mane masking and color. I'm still looking for a Clydesdale from that assortment to handpick, but the other four will probably end up tossed in as extras in my Stablemates Club orders this year. For the Deluxe set, I was looking at four horses to possibly show - the Georg, the Cassidy, the Kit and the Fjord. I only had two sets to choose from, but the Fjord and the Kit in this set were so nice that it came home with me. I'm glad I waited until I could find a nice set!

I haven't talked about it as much on this blog (yet) but Flash is one of my favorite molds. I knew I would need the Christmas horse at some point. Although I'm trying to buy from Tractor Supply less, when they had the Christmas horse marked down to over half off I knew I wasn't going to find a better deal. While I was there, I also picked up a few regular runs on the cheap to use as show donations. Supporting the live shows you attend is so important, and this is such a great time of year to grab donations when stock is being marked down to clearance prices.
