⛺ Happy Kamper Classic 2026 ⛺

The fall show season has officially kicked off! At the end of August, I attended the Happy Kamper Classic. It's a show I've attended a few times (though it was not held last year). I feel like I say this about every show I attend more than once, but it's one of my favorite shows to attend. I guess I'm just lucky to have the opportunity to attend so many well run shows with great hosts!

It was a bit of a drive to get there, but luckily I once again was able to carpool with my friend Sarah. We left absurdly early on Friday morning, which gave us plenty of time to drive down, stop for lunch (and ice cream!), and check in to our hotel. We met up with some of our other friends for dinner, and miraculously got to bed at a normal hour.

The show kicked off bright and early. I mostly brought a mini string, with a small tote of traditionals. Carpooling always makes me more aware of space limitations, so I opted to concentrate on the mini string, particularly because I don't get to show minis for collectability again until November (a combination of judging minis and attending shows that aren't double judged for collectability). The mini string did well, though it was a day for bridesmaids - I had a lot of seconds, and mostly pulled section reserves. This is a tough show, and I'm happy with how my models did regardless!

After the show, a group of us went out for Mexican. It's always such a fun time getting to meet up with your friends at a show, and the shenanigans that occur. This time, my one friend told the waitress it was our other friend's birthday (it was not. She was not amused).

Overall, it was such a wonderful time, and I hope I'm able to make it back to Happy Kamper next year!
