It's Friday, I'm a Judge! Mini Collectability #2

Happy Halloween! Welcome back to It's Friday, I'm a Judge! We've cycled through collectability and breed for Breyer Traditionals and Minis, and now we're back for another look at a mini collectability class.

As always, for those new to this segment, my credentials can be found on my About Me page.

This week, we're judging collectability in an OF Breyer Mini European Pony class.

The Entries:
Horse A: Man O' War - BreyerFest Single Day Stablemate - 2018 - 1,750 made
Horse B: Mini Falhofnir - Premier Collection Bonus Stablemate - 2014 - ~741 made
Horse C: Lyric - Premier Collection Bonus Stablemate - 2020 - Unknown number produced

Take a second, think about how you'd pin the class, then scroll to after the jump for my answer! ↓

The Placings:

🥇1st: Horse A - Man O' War

In first place, we have the Man O' War single day from BreyerFest 2018. This is a case where desirability wins out over numbers. As a portrait of a famous racehorse, Man O' War is more desirable, as non-model horse collectors who are horse racing enthusiasts would be interested in obtaining one. He's also a lovely glossy chestnut on a popular Stablemate mold, adding to his desirability amongst collectors.

🥈2nd: Horse B - Mini Falhofnir

If we pinned collectability solely on numbers, mini Falhofnir would be an easy first place. Alas, as explained above, desirability and value are also factors that need to be taken into account. Mini Falhofnir therefore ends up pinned second in this class. He's a more popular than Lyric, and as he's an older model he's can be a little more difficult to track down.

🥉3rd: Horse C - Lyric

Lyric ends up pinned third. Unlike the other two, there are no numbers released on this run, as numbers on the Premier Club have not been released in a while. However, based on run number trends for Web Specials and BreyerFest Special Runs, we can estimate that the run number is probably much more than either Man O' War or Mini Falhofnir. Adding to that, unlike the other two models, Lyric is an uncommon color (silver bay splash) on a very typey Fjord mold, making it difficult to assign a breed, making him less desirable to those who collect models that do well in breed classes and may not care about collectability as much.

As always, I want to know your thoughts: how would you place this class? Did your placings align with mine? It's okay if we disagree!
